During this 3-hour tour you will unveil secrets of Russian sights, beginning with the Church on the Spilled Blood, which bears 4 names at once! Situated at the Griboedov Canal, it served the place of tsar’s murder and later required to narrow the canal and build a memorable ciborium. The Mikhailovsky Castle depicts native art, starting with the XVIII century and being a rich empire-style building. It was propagated from one generation to another, including grandchildren, until Nicholas II turned it into the museum. As it almost hasn’t seen any changes in ravishing interiors for the last 200 years, the palace still astonishes by Carlo Rossi’s vision.
Be startled by grand mosaic biblical scenes represented on ceilings and walls of an outstanding church! Acquaint yourself with the museum ordered by Nicholas II to accommodate exceptional collections. Marvel at age-old icons, depicting religious objects from the XIV century. Highlight a rare work of Brullov called The Last Days of Pompeii. Enter an imposing vestibule of the palace with its adorable archway and stunning Corinthian colonnade which crowns the stairs.
Duration: 3 hours. We will meet you at your hotel/apartment at the time that you select upon booking. Transfer to the museum is possible only if your accommodation is located not further than 6 km from the city center (Palace Square). Otherwise, we will agree on a meeting point.
